Memphis Schools

Memphis City Schools schools are focused on student learning. Their goal is for each student to meet the highest standards and learn to his or her greatest potential. The expectation is for students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and qualities necessary to become leaders of tomorrow. Faculty and staff are well-qualified, dedicated professionals, and the parents and community members are important partners in youth education.

Approximately 103,000 students are enrolled in the Memphis City Schools. There are 101 elementary schools serving students grades K-5; 40 middle schools serving students grades 6-8; and 31 high schools serving students in grades 9-12. In addition, Memphis has an abundance of great alternative school options as well.
