Memphis Museums

Memphis is a city with a significant impact on the nation’s history, namely in the Civil Rights Movement and in music. There are quite a few museums in Memphis to explore in order to educate yourself on the many aspects of Memphis’ past. The National Civil Rights Museum is one of the most important museums in the city. The NCRM was established in 1991 in order to share the cultural lessons from the Civil Rights Movement, which largely impacted the city of Memphis. The NCRM is located in the spot that was once the Lorraine Motel, the site of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination in 1968. Other notable museums in Memphis are the Pink Palace, the Brooks Museum of Art, and the Children’s Museum of Memphis. Graceland is also in Memphis. The former home and current burial location of Elvis Presley is also one of the most famous museum / attractions in the world.
