Memphis is a city with a significant impact on the nation’s history, namely in the Civil Rights Movement and in music. The National Civil Rights Museum is one of the most important museums in the city. The NCRM was established in 1991 in order to share the cultural lessons from the Civil Rights Movement, which largely impacted the city of Memphis.
