Memphis has an incredibly healthy and lively nightlife, so naturally there are a ton of bars to choose from when exploring the city. Memphis has all kinds of bars — dive bars, live music venues, sports bars, college-central bars, dance clubs, and local favorites. Beale Street, arguably the most famous street in the city, is packed full of many of the most popular bars in all of Tennessee. The Beale Street Tap Room is famous for its stock of over 30 beers on tap. The famous Coyote Ugly Saloon is also located on Beale Street. Coyote Ugly is known for its beautiful bartenders’ live performances nightly. Off of Beale Street, there are plenty of other bars to check out. Alex’s Tavern is a family-owned “dive” bar that is incredibly popular in Memphis. Alex’s Tavern is best known for its inexpensive beer and delicious cheeseburgers. Earnestine and Hazel’s is another bar that is well-loved in the city. Once known as a brothel, Earnestine and Hazel’s is now a live blues music venue, offering its patrons delicious drinks, live music, and a taste of Memphis history.
